Parker review

The best Jason Statham movie I've ever seen. Although that's not saying a ton considering some of his movies like the awful Crank 2: High Voltage and the first Expendables movie. (Yuck!) But I'm not saying Parker was bad because it was actually pretty good. Basically it's about a Robin Hood-esque thief who is almost killed by his fellow thieves after a disagreement. He wants one thing. Revenge and his share of the cash. The result is some awesome stuff.  The plot was interesting, the main character was fairly likable, there was some cool action scenes, and the main girl was quite pretty, (Jennifer Lopez has aged very well). Jason Statham is notorious for pumping out forgettable action movies with similar or dumb plots, but this movie was more than watchable, it was good! January releases are known for being bad but this movie was the first actually good movie of the year. Sure some parts were dumb action, but other parts were well written and acted. I never thought of Mr. Statham as a "good" actor, and while he was no Daniel Day-Lewis, he was much more than mediocre. The movie kept you on your seat and had a satisfying ending unlike some of the better reviewed movies this year like Lincoln or Arbitrage. So my consensus is see this if you wanna have a good time and see Jason Statham in something else than his usual. I give Parker 3.6 out of 5 stars!
